Pretty cool that they upped combine fails and you lose portal energies, but cannot do combine outside a jewelry table. so you fail, run to 2 zones, back to ot, fail, vice versa.
So if you do the combine and get the Elaborate Earring But the task doesn't update too turn in stage and ideas???
I think ngreth was talking about updating some of the tasks to add more "fail" catches like this, dunno what else you would try besides remaking the earring from part 1 (the quests only learn you the recipe) if you are indeed on the proper step

Location 2 is BELOW the zone in.
If you fail the combine and lose the portal energies, you can just run over the portal again and you'll receive another task update and another energy.
When you step on portals, ytou'll receive a debuff called "Energetic Glow". Appears to render all forms of Invisibility ineffective. It goes to song window, so you can camp or zone to get rid of it.
